How to take a screenshot on your Windows running Mac without having a print key on your keyboard?
If you can find a F14 key on your keyboard, press it. An image of your screen should now be in the clipboard and you can paste it in the application of your choice by pressing ctrl + v.
If there isn’t a F14 key on your keyboard, press fn + shift + F11.
That’s all of the witchcraft.

Visual Studio 2012: debugging on emulator (WinPhone)

If I tried to start a Windows Phone App (WP8) in the debugger of Visual Studio 2012 I always got the following error message:

The application could not be launched for debugging. Ensure that the target device screen is unlock and that the application is installed.

The application is deployed correctly and I could run it by hand on the emulator. But debugging wasn’t possible with this workaround.
To resolve this problem I had to deinstall Visual Studio (it was installed from a German ISO) and install it again from the English ISO.
Totally stupid!

Changing the product key of Visual Studio 2012

Normally it is not possible to change the product key of a registered Visual Studio so we have to workaround. The following steps worked for me on Windows-8.

Open the registry editor (regedit) and look for the following key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Licenses\77550D6B-6352-4E77-9DA3-537419DF564B
rename or delete this key.
Start your Visual Studio. You will get an error message and the ability to repair the installation.
Click on repair.

After the restoration of your installation and one reboot later your studio should start as an unregistered version and is working in test mode (29 days without registration).

Now it is possible to choose “product registration” from your help menu in VisualStudio for inserting your new product key.

Unterschiedliche git user pro Repository

Wer in verschiedenen Repositories mit unterschiedlichen Nutzernamen agieren möchte kann dies ganz leicht bewerkstelligen. Geht im Terminal einfach in das Verzeichnis des entsprechenden Repositories und führt folgende Befehle aus:

git config user.name "neuerName" 
git config user.mail "meine@mail.adresse"

Dies setzt die entsprechenden Einträge in der .git/config, die ihr natürlich auch direkt editieren könnt. Ab sofort werden dann eure commits mit den eingestellten Werten ausgeführt.

Ich schau ja für Koch- und Küchentipps gerne ins Internet. Eine Seite die ich dabei besonders gerne besuche ist die Seite: highfoodality.com.

Dort kann man sich nun leckere Rezepte in Form eines Kochbuches herunterladen. Dafür muss man sich zwar in einen Newsletter eintragen aber das ist sicher kein Nachteil!

Das besondere an diesem Kochbuch: Jedem Monat ist eine Farbe zugewiesen. So gibt es im Januar zum Beispiel weiße Gerichte.

Moto-GP Saison 2012 Termine

Am Sonntag startet die Moto-GP in die neue Saison. Um kein Rennen zu verpassen habe ich die Termine mal in den Kalender eingetragen und diesen freigegeben. Wer möchte kann sich mittels klick auf anmelden die Termine in sein Kalendertool (Outlook, iCal) eintragen.
